Frank Lloyd Wright furniture and buildings are of great interest to collectors and art enthusiasts, but who would guess he once designed a doghouse? A boy living in a Wright-designed house in California wrote to Wright in 1956 to ask if he would design a doghouse to go with the house. Wright sent drawings for a triangular doghouse that complemented the hexagonal main house. The doghouse was built in 1963 and taken apart in 1973, but it was just rebuilt for a Wright documentary. The newly rebuilt house fixed the old problem of a leaky roof. The new house may not have much value to a collector, but the letters and Wright’s plans could bring a good price.
